About CLAT

Common Law Admission Test or CLAT, is a single unified entrance test for candidates aspiring to pursue 3 year LLB, 5 year Integrated LLB and LLM. The law entrance examination is conducted annually for UG and PG programs. NLU’s conduct the national level exam on a rotational basis.

CLAT Eligibility Criteria - Undergraduate Law Programmes-L.L.B

The eligibility criteria of CLAT will differ for undergraduate and postgraduate programs. Given below is CLAT eligibility criteria for 5-year integrated law program:

• Qualifying exam

Candidates who have passed their Senior Secondary School Examination/ 12th Board Examination can apply.

• Marks in qualifying exam

A minimum of 45% marks in the qualifying degree is required to appear in CLAT . SC and ST candidates need only 40% marks.

Age limit

There is no age limit for appearing in CLAT for UG program

Marks in qualifying marks

Aspirants need to score at least 55% in the qualifying degree. SC/ST category candidates will be granted 5% relaxation in minimum marks.

Age limit

Like in CLAT UG, there is no age limit for appearing in CLAT for PG program as well. CLAT Eligibility Criteria- Number of Attempts A candidate can appear in CLAT as many times as he/she wants to.

Duration-2 hours

Mode-Offline (pen-paper mode)

Type of Questions-Multiple Type Questions (MCQs)

Number of Questions-Undergraduate Exam (BA LLB) - 150 objective type questions

Postgraduate Exam (LLM) - 100 objective and 2 subjective questions

Language - English

Total Marks-UG - 150 marks,PG - 150 marks

Marking scheme:Each objective question (both UG and PG) will carry 1 mark.
